Wellington and the Acreage are full of big rigs of the friendly kind: RVs, boat trailers, horse trailers and work trucks. When one of them will not move, a regular tow truck is not the answer. Here is what to know before you call.
Short answer: RVs, box trucks and large trailers need a heavy-duty tow truck and some planning. Tell us the vehicle type, size, weight and where it is parked, and we bring the right equipment. Horse trailers must be empty before towing. Call (561) 594-4491.
What can we tow?
- Class A, B and C motorhomes (RVs).
- Travel trailers and fifth wheels.
- Empty horse trailers and livestock trailers.
- Box trucks and work trucks.
- Boat trailers (on dry land).
What should you tell us when you call?
| Detail | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Vehicle type and length | So we send the right size truck |
| Approximate weight | Heavy-duty trucks have weight ratings |
| Where it is parked | Driveways, barns and narrow roads need planning |
| Is it hitched, and to what? | Trailers and tow vehicles may need separate moves |
| Where it needs to go | For an accurate quote |
Horse trailers: the important rule
We never tow a trailer with animals inside. Please unload the horses first and move them somewhere safe. Once the trailer is empty, we can move it to your barn, a repair shop or wherever it needs to go. Your horses will thank you, and so will our driver.
RV breakdowns on the road
If your RV stops on the Turnpike or Southern Boulevard, treat it like any breakdown: hazard lights on, as far right as you safely can, everyone stays buckled unless the vehicle is unsafe, and call 911 if a lane is blocked. Then call us with the exact location and the RV’s size.
Tight spots in the Acreage
Some properties out west have long dirt driveways, soft ground and low trees. Tell us about the access, and if the ground is soft after rain, we may suggest waiting for it to dry or doing a winch-out first. Nobody wants two stuck vehicles instead of one.
